Metamorphic Technique is based on a gentle touch. It focuses on reflexology meridians on the feet, hands, and the head. The spinal reflexes, as known in reflexology, represent our time in the womb, from conception to birth, when our life patterns are shaped.
It is neither a therapy nor a massage or a treatment, there is no manipulation involved.
The main principle of Metamorphic Technique is of complete detachment. That means that, as a practitioner, I do not heal you and do not impose any changes to the system. I act purely as a catalyst to the intelligence that is already within you, offering a space for the transformation to happen.
Each of us needs freedom to transform in a way that is right for us.
Who can receive Metamorphic Technique?
Due to the gentle, non-invasive form of this technique, it is completely safe and suitable for people of all ages, conditions and life circumstances. It can be received by newborns, pregnant women or people in their final days.
What happens during the session?
An adult session lasts approximately one hour. Sessions for children and babies are usually shorter. You will be invited to sit or lay down in a comfortable position. I will use a light touch on your feet, hands and head. Some people like to carry on conversation during the session and others like to relax in silence, often with closed eyes. Some are consciously aware of what is happening around them, and others drift off into a deep space. Although there is no need to know about your medical history or details about your life, many recipients like to share it during the session.
How many sessions are recommended?
The number of sessions and frequency is your pure choice. Some people will come for regular sessions and others will have random appointments whenever it feels beneficial for them.
What can I expect from the session?
It is not possible to tell what experience you will have with Metamorphic Technique, there are no expectations, there is no right or wrong outcome.
Each of us is unique in every way and we respond and react differently to external influences. Some people report that they feel relaxed, more focused, their mind is clearer, others will notice that they are more confident and empowered.
After a session some recipients report that they feel different on a mental and emotional level and others notice physical changes. Transformation in career, relationship or personal life have also been reported by clients. For some effects are noticeable almost immediately and for others it is a very subtle process.
Each person will experience what they need mostly at the time.
What is the story behind Metamorphic Technique?
The beginning of Metamorphic Technique goes back to 1960s. When practising reflexology and working on the spinal reflexes British naturopath Robert St. John realised that his sessions were more successful when he wasn’t aiming for any particular results. He came to a conclusion that the spinal reflexes not only correspond to the spinal column as known in reflexology, but also represent our time in the womb from conception to birth. Robert St. John established that our experiences in the womb and at birth shape our life patterns, characteristics and our potential.
Any positive and negative feelings and emotions, stress and traumas or love and affection of the unborn child affect life we lead after birth. Memories stored in our tissues and our limiting believes will make us follow certain patterns in life and will prevent us from fulfilling our potential.
Robert St. John noticed that by working on the spinal reflexes on the feet, hands and head the recipient reaches the source of these behaviours and blockages and a release and resolution and a deep transformation took place for many of his clients. He stated that the months when we are in the womb (prenatal period) is the most fundamental time of our life. He named his work a Prenatal Therapy, which was later called Metamorphosis.
In 1970s Gaston Saint-Pierre, who worked closely with Robert St. John renamed Prenatal Therapy to Metamorphic Technique. In 1979 he founded Metamorphic Association, which in 1984 became a registered educational charity. Gaston Saint-Pierre taught that it is not the technique or the practitioner that brings the results.
The practitioner is just a catalyst for the person’s inner power. By holding the space, the structure is being loosened to enable the inner life-force to take over. He taught that we are all like seeds which have inside the blueprint of a plant or a tree. We need a catalyst in order to grow. For the seed the catalyst is the earth and for us it is our own inner life-force.
